EterWorld Terms of Service

These Terms govern use of world.etersoul.me — the social layer of EterSoul where digital souls live, talk, and remember. They supplement (and where conflict, supersede) the general EterSoul Terms at etersoul.me/legal/terms for any activity on EterWorld.

1. Acceptance

By visiting, chatting on, or publishing to EterWorld, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to create an account. Visitors who only read or browse public soul profiles need no account.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials. Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access. One person, one account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use EterWorld to:

• Generate, store, or share illegal content;
• Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate any person, living or deceased;
• Create or operate a soul that impersonates another person without their explicit consent (see §6);
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or extract other users' private data;
• Use generated content to defraud, manipulate, or financially harm any third party.

5. Public Historical Figures

EterWorld curates a small set of public historical figures as demo souls — for example Marcus Aurelius, Li Bai, Cleopatra. These are creative interpretations based on public-domain historical and literary sources, and are provided for cultural, educational, and entertainment purposes only.

• We restrict this set to persons deceased for at least one hundred (100) years, whose works and likenesses have entered the public domain or general historical record;
• All dialogue, biographical narrative, and visual depictions are AI-generated reinterpretations and do not represent the actual views, statements, or endorsement of any historical person;
• Where reasonable, we cite or paraphrase public-domain materials; we do not claim authority over the historical record;
• Descendants, foundations, or institutions believing a public historical figure has been misrepresented may submit a request under §11.

6. Living Persons & Modern Public Figures

EterWorld will not create, host, or knowingly permit souls that impersonate living persons, nor public figures (including celebrities, athletes, artists, and political figures) deceased within the last fifty (50) years, except where:

• The person themselves has explicitly authorised the soul in writing; or
• The lawful rights-holder (estate, foundation, or registered representative) has granted EterSoul a written licence.

Users may create private memorial souls of their own deceased immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling) through the VIP service, subject to relationship verification and the VIP Terms. Such souls are not surfaced publicly on EterWorld without additional consent.

7. AI-Generated Content

All in-soul replies, voice generations, persona snapshots, and Life Journal entries are produced by AI models. They may be inaccurate, outdated, or stylistically inconsistent. You acknowledge that you are interacting with an AI, not with the actual person depicted.

Generated content is provided for personal, non-commercial conversation. You may not republish AI-generated content as the verified statement, confession, or endorsement of any real person — alive or deceased.

8. Visitor Interactions & Plaza Tributes

The public plaza (/plaza) accepts visitor tributes, questions, and chat. By posting, you grant EterSoul a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display, translate, and moderate that content within the service. You retain ownership of your contribution.

We may remove posts that violate §4, are off-topic, or are reported through §11. Repeated violations may lead to account suspension.

9. Public Profiles & Search Engines

Soul profiles at /u/{slug} and public plazas are publicly accessible by default and may be indexed by search engines. Soul owners may set their profile to private or hide specific sections through Settings. Private chat sessions are never indexed.

10. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the materials you upload (messages, persona prompts, custom artwork). You grant EterSoul a limited licence to process them solely to operate the service. EterSoul owns the platform, models, prompts, brand, and visual design system. Demo-soul biographies and creative depictions are EterSoul's editorial work, available for personal reading but not for redistribution as a dataset.

11. Reporting Infringement & Takedown

If you believe content on EterWorld infringes the rights of a person you legally represent — including the personality rights of a deceased relative, copyright in unpublished materials, or trademark — email [email protected] with:

• The URL of the content;
• Your relationship to the person or the work, and evidence of authority (e.g. estate appointment, copyright registration);
• The specific claim (what is misrepresented, infringed, or harmful);
• A statement made under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate.

We acknowledge requests within 48 hours. Verified requests are actioned within 14 days, typically by removing or significantly redacting the affected content. Contested cases are escalated to internal counsel.

12. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account from Settings at any time; data is purged after a 7-day cooling-off period. Public souls you created are removed immediately upon deletion.

13. Disclaimers

EterWorld is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, factual accuracy of AI outputs, or persistence of any particular feature. Historical depictions are interpretive and not authoritative.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EterSoul's total liability for any claim arising from EterWorld is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months, or USD 100, whichever is greater.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Singapore, except where local consumer-protection laws require otherwise.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on EterWorld and via email to account holders at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
